Know Thy Neighbor ("we", "our", or "the App") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Account information: Name and email address (via Google Sign-In)
Profile photo: Optional avatar image you upload
Reviews: Text content and star ratings you submit about residential addresses
Saved addresses: Addresses you bookmark for later viewing

Information collected automatically:

Device identifiers: Push notification token (with your permission)
Search queries: Address searches processed in real time (not stored)

2. How We Use Your Information

Data	Purpose
Name & email	Account creation, authentication, and account management
Profile photo	Display on your profile (visible only to you)
Reviews	Displayed anonymously to other users to help inform rental decisions
Saved addresses	Allow you to quickly access addresses of interest
Push token	Send notifications about review activity and account updates
Search queries	Return address autocomplete results via Google Places API (processed ephemerally)

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

Google Places API: Address search queries are forwarded to return autocomplete results. Google processes these in real time.
Expo Push Service: Your push notification token is used to deliver notifications through Expo's infrastructure.

We do not share your name, email, or review content with any advertising or analytics third parties.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

All personal data is permanently deleted immediately
Anonymised moderation logs are retained for 90 days for legal compliance, then permanently purged

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data (visible in your profile and review history)
Delete your account and all associated data at any time (Profile → Delete My Data)
Opt out of push notifications via device settings

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication via OAuth 2.0, and encrypted database storage to protect your information.

7. Children's Privacy

Know Thy Neighbor is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via push notification or in-app notice.
